Crucial website projects

Overview

Crucial.com (by Micron) is Micron's B2C commerce site that sells memory and storage products to millions of customers worldwide that enhances the performance, productivity, and reliability of PC and Mac devices.

 

Challenge

Micron released Brand 4.0, requiring Crucial to update all commerce websites while simultaneously migrating the platform from Digital River to Adobe. Stakeholders also wanted to implement new features to enhance the user experience, but these features were out of scope during the migration. There was a risk of code overwrites, causing deeper user experience issues.

Design initiatives

In these projects, I worked on a range of design initiatives, from quick turnaround enhancements to more comprehensive redesigns and new feature development. Some tools and features were held back until after the migration to avoid conflicts, while initiatives that didn't impact Adobe commerce pages were advanced.

The redesign focused on key commerce pages like account management, refunds, and credit handling. It addressed usability issues, resulting in a modern, user-friendly interface to boost customer satisfaction and streamlin the E commerce journey.

Lead UX Designer

The Crucial Upgrade Selector tool offered three different ways to find your system to see compatible upgrades. I collaborated with my UX Manager and SEO expert to create a single page where customers can find their compatible upgrades, allowing them to search directly or use a guided search tool.
